Workers Compensation for tower and telecom contractors
Statutory workers comp and employers liability for tower crews

Overview
Workers compensation provides statutory benefits to employees injured on the job. For tower erection and telecom construction, this is the most challenging line to place because class codes for work at height (such as NCCI 3724 - Structural Iron or 7601 - Antenna Installation) carry extremely high experience modification rates and many carriers will not write them.
Why it matters for tower work
Tower work has one of the highest fatality rates in U.S. construction. OSHA reports communication tower fatalities at a rate far exceeding general construction. Carriers that write these class codes understand the exposure; those that do not will decline or exclude the work.
MSA relevance
MSAs universally require workers compensation with statutory limits and employers liability of at least $500K/$500K/$500K, often $1M. Some require a waiver of subrogation endorsement on the WC policy. Texas nonsubscribers may satisfy MSA requirements with occupational accident plus indemnity language.
