TowerInsure

How quickly do I need to provide a certificate of insurance for a new tower project?

Most turf vendors require certificates within 24-48 hours of MSA execution or project assignment. In practice, the industry moves faster, and same-day certificate issuance is often expected. If you cannot produce a compliant certificate quickly, the project may be assigned to another subcontractor. To meet these timelines, establish a system with your broker: (1) Keep your broker informed of your active MSAs and their insurance requirements. (2) Provide a standing certificate template for each turf vendor relationship so certificates can be issued from the template without re-verifying requirements each time. (3) If your broker uses an automated certificate management system, set up your turf vendors as standing certificate holders with pre-populated endorsement language. (4) Maintain an internal tracking spreadsheet of all active certificates, expiration dates, and renewal requirements. The most common delays come from brokers needing to verify coverage terms or request endorsements before issuing certificates. If your program already includes all required endorsements on a blanket basis (blanket AI, blanket waiver, per-project aggregate), certificates can be issued immediately without carrier involvement. Build your program to eliminate certificate delays.
