Do I need separate certificates for each turf vendor and tower owner?

Yes, each certificate holder (turf vendor, tower owner, general contractor) requires its own certificate with their specific information. Even if the underlying insurance is the same policy, the certificate must list each holder by their correct legal name and address, reference the specific MSA or contract between you and that party, and note the endorsements applicable to that relationship. A typical tower contractor working under three turf vendors needs three separate certificates, each naming a different certificate holder. If one turf vendor requires $10M umbrella and another requires $5M, the certificates will show different requirements even though they reference the same policy. When a single project involves multiple parties requiring additional insured status (tower owner, turf vendor, GC), you may need multiple certificates for one project. Some turf vendors also require certificates naming the underlying carrier (AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) as an additional certificate holder. Your broker should maintain a certificate distribution list and reissue all certificates at each policy renewal. Automated certificate management platforms can streamline this for contractors with dozens of active relationships.
